One search across every place your documents actually live — shared drives, mail archives, legacy file shares. A question that took six searches takes one.
We act as your fractional head of cloud, AI and machine learning, from strategy to build to infrastructure, when your data is sensitive or your deadline won't move. Below is the work we do, each with the case studies behind it.
A fixed-price engagement that maps your business, systems and stakeholders and sizes the work. Ask us whether it fits.
“Working with [Acorn] was always just a refreshing, joyous part of the week. I think it's very hard to find a consulting partner who can deeply listen and really understand your context, but then also quickly turn that into some kind of conceptual direction and really showing that understanding. [The team] did exactly that and think they would be a great partner for really anyone that's in this space...”
When the technology leadership you need does not exist in-house yet, we act as your fractional head of cloud, AI and machine learning, from strategy to build to infrastructure. One accountable lead runs the engagement and brings in data scientists, engineers and delivery leads as the work needs them.
Acorn creates wireframes, prototypes and mockups of possible solutions so ideas are tested before heavy investment. We then scale the work into production-ready solutions.
“I'm so impressed with how well they listen. They listen first. They understand your problems, they understand what you're working towards, which saves a ton of time and a ton of expectation alignment towards the back end. And then I think that outside of that, once he's able to understand your problems, he's able to put together really good teams that can execute your vision faster than most other people you meet.”
Dashboards, scorecards and shared metric baselines that give a team one version of the numbers, and predictive models built on the data you have.
Systems built to fit how your team works, including testing platforms, data migrations, and API layers that connect your systems.
“Working with Mike and Acorn and the team has been fantastic that they really took the time to understand our business requirements. ... having that opportunity to work with Mike and the team to develop and go through that discovery process around designing a new technology platform, you know, which is fantastic for us that is scalable and flexible ...”
DataOps and data engineering, DevOps, MLOps, and cloud infrastructure, run as one practice. We deploy into production, operationalize the work, transfer competency to your team, and then move into maintenance mode.
When a project is stalled, behind, or short a team, we step in with the delivery practices that get it moving again. These three video walkthroughs each cover one engagement.
Fit to your organization during onboarding. If you choose, we also host and run them for you.

Answers “how do I” questions from your organization's own written procedures, with a citation attached — and says so when nothing covers the answer.
Reviews draft time-entry narratives for vague, block-billed, or duplicate lines before an invoice goes out. Review only — never rewrites or issues.
A live interview copilot that marks compliance controls “evidenced” from what the person being interviewed actually says in the room, with the exact quote attached as proof.
Documents are uploaded to a portal, an analyst approves the final set, the report builds from them — every figure traces back to a source page.
Locks scoring criteria before any option is evaluated, so a decision record can't be reverse-engineered toward a preferred outcome.
Tests whether your own history can actually support a machine-learning model before a quarter gets spent finding out.
Gartner, 2025 predicts 60% of AI projects will be abandoned through 2026 for lack of AI-ready data — exactly what this module checks for before you commit a quarter to one.
A deliberately small, hard-capped scorecard built to run a weekly meeting, not display everything measurable.
Projects year-end revenue from issued-invoice pace and converts any shortfall into a required per-period billing rate.
A keyboard-driven review queue for low-confidence records; corrections are reversible, originals stay intact.
Watches whether scheduled jobs ran and produced normal output, catching the job that silently stopped, not just the one that errored.
With a conversation about what you are building, fixing or deciding. From there we scope the engagement that fits. One option is a paid, fixed-price Strategic Assessment that maps your business, systems and stakeholders and sizes the work; ask us whether it fits. How long it takes depends on the company and how quickly key stakeholders can meet. Most take two to five weeks, and enterprises with a dozen or more stakeholders to schedule can take up to 60 days. It asks for roughly an hour from each stakeholder in your organization, plus some follow up questions for those that can screenshare with us the views into data or systems you may have.
No. The first thing we do is get a sense of the breadth of your systems from a high level, using automated methods. We want to avoid sending humans down tedious rabbit holes to prepare documentation that frankly should be handled in a different way. And frankly, computers are often much, much better at data cleaning than the humans are.
Not at first. We recommend the system read the data and report on it, while corrections are still made by a person in the source system. You can widen that later.
Yes. We work with business owners who need a technical decision-maker to weigh options when the consequences of a choice are unclear.
Tell us what you are building, fixing, or trying to decide. We scope the right engagement, and a Strategic Assessment is one option.
